the fresh smell of clean earth,
rain-dappled bamboo....
and the soft cushion of mud beneath my feet.

Audio Adrenalin has a neat song that goes "I get down, I get back up, I get down, I get back up again..."
That's how life is sometimes. And here to illustrate that concept is yours truly, attempting once again the bird in flight pose from the yoga section of my Body Flow class. By the way, this is not easy. I may have had the pose for a split second or two, but doing this alone with the 10-second timer on my camera, it also wasn't easy to have the pose ready, on cue, right when those 10 seconds were up and the camera flashed!
This was fun, a good hard muscle workout, loved the power lifts, but not nearly as much fun and intense as Body Combat! I'll still be doing that one on Thursdays.
Next thing to try is Power Yoga...yoga class with a little extra "oomph". In the meantime, I'll still be working on that bird pose, I am determined to get it yet!!
Sunshine, 77 degrees, April 14th.
Great day to go to the lake!
Even took my first plunge for the season. Water was a bit cool, but refreshing! Sam & Colby made castles in the sand.
Wedding party cocktail party, dinner with guests in ballroom, salmon & asparagus for me, red & white wines, (couldn't decide on just one!), dancing feet, throwing of the bouquet to "all the single ladies" song by beyonce, a beautiful new night. Best wishes, Melissa & Joe!!!!
After the ceremony and more pictures, we were greeted by a beautiful white limo outside which carried us to the reception. (Sorry I don't have many photos of the actual ceremony yet, will have to add them later as I get them from friends.)
Before arriving at the Rennaissance Hotel at North Hills for the reception, we stopped at the fountain area in the plaza for some more pictures.
The day of Sat. April 6th was a very special day for my wonderful friend, "Melmo", as I call her. After many years of faithfully waiting for "the right one", she has found her prince at the still-very-young age of 39!!
Following are several photos to illustrate the beauty and excitement of this great day.
As one of her bridesmaids, I needed to arrive at the church a few hours early to get ready and then pose for pre-ceremony pictures. As usual, I was running a little behind. Good thing it wasn't my own wedding!
