Hello!
It's a beautiful day at the beach! A bit chilly, perhaps, but bursting with gorgeous sunshine and just a light breeze. Such a nice getaway during this kick-off-to-the-holidays weekend!
I always get excited when we cross the bridge over the intercoastal waterway...
..and especially when I see palm trees! The sun is starting to set as we settle into our canal-side room.
Morning welcomed us with yet another blindingly bright blue sky and sunshine bouncing off the deep blue sea!
yup, living it up at the Holiday Inn!
View from our 7th floor room, below:
After a yummy breakfast buffet in the "Oceans" restaurant, I checked out the fitness room.
Nice view of the beach while spinning around the elliptical...
..and here's the fun outdoor pool area..
..though we stayed in the indoor pool, most the time...
But how could I resist a relaxing hot tub, even if it was outside in the 50 degree November air!
All that swimming works up an appetite! Time for lunch. (hmm, that name above the door reminds me of a song..."spirit lead me where my trust is without borders.."
Great thing about this place- kids eat for free at the restaurant! woo hoo!
And what did I have for lunch, you say? Well, I'm so glad you asked!
I had a delicious fish taco with tomato, lettuce, avocado & sour cream, with chips & salsa, coleslaw, and lots of just-right sweet tea. you're welcome.
After lunch we headed outside to the cold chilly beach. Built a few sandcastles..
...and if you'll visit my Vine account (username: jennerositync), you'll see that there were also some crazy surfers out here, I videotaped one of them, though it wasn't a great shot, sort of far away.
Time to go back inside, say hello to the big squawking parrot in the lobby... (hola!)
..and order a snack of chicken tenders for room service!
man, are we spoiled!
That's it for now. Time to take the elevator down to the game room where the kids are playing on the wii. Hope to watch the Wrightsville Beach Flotilla tonight, as the boats cruise down the waterway, all decked out Christmas-style, then watch the fireworks when it's done. Supposed to be a big deal around here. I might rather just curl up and go to sleep. Colby has the right idea..
