Just hangin out with the Storms...
Found a couple old guns that my dad had from WWII...
including this German pistol, supposedly bearing a swastika on it in small print..
(that's my sister Heidi)
...and that's me below..
..and also this long rifle.
Brother Dean playing with guns in mom's kitchen.
In the afternoon, went yard sale-shopping with Heidi.
Nothing but junk at this one house, but then,
lo and behold,
looky here!!!
A plastic bucket full of old, beat-up, splintering drumsticks
and a sticker that read "Drumsticks, 10 cents each!
what a steal! So I bought two of them, thinking I'd give them to my son for his upcoming birthday, hoping he'd get an interest in playing some kind of musical instrument, and why not drums!
But...then, as I returned to the car, I had second thoughts. And thought, oh dear, Sam will be jealous and wish she had some. And "I" will be jealous, too!!!
So this happened. 2 + 4 = 6 drumsticks total.
For 60 cents. not bad.
By dinner time, all the siblings were together in our old house, as well as my sister's "ex" partner, Jenn, from years ago, still good friends of the family. We sat around, had pizza and beer, and reminisced old times. Told tales of our mischievious younger days, like the time my brothers jumped a freight train and rode the box cars home from church one day, though it got scary when the train speeded up and Brad had to yell "JUMP!!!" and they rolled into the ditch before being whisked up to the North Pole with Frosty the snowman. (ha) Or the time my dance team friends and I snuck wine concealed in soda cans into our high school English class, risking big trouble if we'd been caught. Bad girls, we were...
(and now my brother is teasing me about an incident from a party at a lakehouse during our college days..just STOP!!!)
Then, before bed, I noticed this sweet little bunny outside the bathroom window. It stays light out till past 9:00 pm this time of year up here in these northern parts.
I'm a day late, so more news about today's funeral activities, later. goodnight!!
