throw back, way back, to last thursday on the beach!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand these will be the last of my bathroom selfies for awhile. just had to reminisce what it was like to have a tan, as now the long whitening process will begin...until i am fortunate enough to visit a warm beach again. (i'm ready, let's go!!)

I have seen everything that is done under the SUN, and behold, all is VANITY and a striving after the wind. (Ecc. 1:4)

Playing with the surfboard

Yesterday's surfing practice: tried it out past the shore breaker waves, but it was too flat. Tried standing, but without fast enough waves, the lack of momentum made it easier to fall. as pictured.

..but it was still fun, just hanging out.

yeah that's me out there..

..and again.

Today i tried just playing around in the very shallow shore-breakers, and actually had a good time just boogie-boarding it in, barely getting up to a squat position before it dug into the sand. oh well, guess i'll need to plan another trip to puerto rico, work on this in some better waves.
Still, can't complain. a so-so day of surfing at the beach is always better than a great day inland.

Vacation photos

ok i'm getting overwhelmed and exhausted trying to upload vacation photos onto this blog...so i'm going to do things the easy way: copy+paste the link to my google+ page, which includes most of the beach photos and a whole bunch of other stuff. it's just too hard to pick and choose a few favorite photos when i've got so many and i'm busy having fun here on the beach. So here goes, and i'll be back to sharing my thoughts later.

ok, maybe just one photo for now... the highlight of today, Tuesday: renting a surfboard!!! It's an 8-foot funboard, and i have it for the whole rest of the week. Tomorrow we'll do some more getting-acquainted with each other. so far mr. gnaraloo has just succeeded in dumping me into the Atlantic several times, reminding me of that water-up-the-nose feeling i got learning to swim as a kid. still, it's awesome, just playin around on this thing. ok, goodnight!!
